Blumberg's De-lite

Rapper-related shootings in New York City will come and go....

...but have you ever wondered what the white, Jewish members of the extended family of the assistant DA would have to say about all this?

There is news for everybody today!

For Sara, our hipster:

Scarlett Johansson Recording Tom Waits Covers Album

For Jeremy, our nerd:

Santorum defends Iraq war policy

"EVITTOWN - Embattled U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum said America has avoided a second terrorist attack for five years because the "Eye of Mordor" has instead been draw to Iraq.

Santorum used the analogy from one of his favorite books, J.R.R. Tolkien's 1950s fantasy classic, "Lord of the Rings," to put an increasingly unpopular war in Iraq into terms any school kid could easily understand.

"As the hobbits are going up Mount Doom, the Eye of Mordor is being drawn somewhere else," Santorum said, describing the tool the evil Lord Sauron used in search of the magical ring that would consolidate his power over Middle-earth."

For Dara, our Christian:

APOCAMON: The Final Judgement

Cat Yusuf Stevens Islam has a new single?

I guess it's exciting for me to hear his dulcit tones once more, but I just kind of wish the song itself didn't have a distinctly Phil Collins-y feeling about it. Slash the lyrics weren't complete crap. Hasn't dude been meditating for like 28 years?

Can we get some GILGAMESH in this PIECE?

Archaeologists in Iraq believe they may have found the lost tomb of King Gilgamesh - the subject of the oldest "book" in history.

BUT WHERE IS ENKIDU?

And because Jeremy has no idea what I am talking about:

In the show Star Trek: The Next Generation, Captain Picard relates the story of Enkidu and Gilgamesh from the Epic of Gilgamesh to a dying Tamarian Captain Dathon in the episode "Darmok". The adventures of Enkidu and Gilgamesh serve as a metaphor for the motivation of the Star Trek characters in the episode.
